CBD, short for cannabidiol, has taken the health and wellness world by storm. 25% of American adults are either currently using CBD products as part of their lifestyle routine or are interested in trying them.

While many other countries have embraced CBD for its potential benefits, cannabis policies vary significantly based on where you are. So, if you’re planning a trip to Dubai or moving there, you may be wondering, is CBD legal in Dubai? and if you can bring your favorite CBD products with you.

The short answer is, no: unless you want serious legal trouble.

In this guide, we’ll break down everything you need to know about CBD regulations in Dubai — what’s allowed, what’s banned, and what happens if you get caught with it.

Understanding CBD

Cannabidiol (CBD) is one of over a hundred naturally occurring compounds in the cannabis plant. Unlike THC (tetrahydrocannabinol), which produces the “high” associated with marijuana, CBD is non-psychoactive. This means it won’t alter your mental state or impair daily function.

Some studies suggest CBD interacts with the body’s endocannabinoid system, a complex network of receptors and neurotransmitters that helps regulate essential functions such as mood, sleep, immune response, and pain perception. Because of this, many people turn to CBD for relief from:

  • Chronic pain
  • Anxiety and stress
  • Insomnia
  • Inflammation and pain recovery

Note: The FDA has not approved CBD for treating or preventing any medical condition.

Thanks to its presumed benefits, CBD has become widely available in various forms, including oils, capsules, skincare products, and edibles. However, its legality remains a grey area in places with strict drug laws, including Dubai.

The Legal Status of CBD in Dubai

Can You (Legally) Buy THC Oil, Cannabis Oil or Marijuana Oil

Drug laws in the UAE are some of the strictest in the world, with a zero-tolerance policy on cannabis and all its derivatives. Even if a product contains only trace amounts of THC — typically less than 0.3% in full-spectrum CBD products — it is still considered illegal.

What’s Legal and What’s Illegal

Illegal:

All forms of CBD — including cbd oils, cbd edibles, cbd topicals, and cbd vape products are strictly prohibited in Dubai.

Legal:

Certain medical cannabis products may be allowed under strict conditions. However, this requires a prescription from a UAE-licensed doctor and approval from health authorities.

Dubai has cracked down heavily on CBD use, particularly vaping. In the first quarter of 2019 alone, nearly 100 people mostly foreigners were arrested for trying to bring CBD oil into the country hidden inside vape pens or e-cigarettes.

Governments worldwide have issued warnings about Dubai’s zero-tolerance drug policies. The UK’s Foreign Office has explicitly cautioned travelers against carrying the smallest trace of a banned substance into the UAE.

CBD is also prohibited in soaps, skincare products, and other personal care items. What’s more, UAE authorities consider the presence of banned substances in your bloodstream as possession, meaning you could be prosecuted even if you consumed CBD before entering the country.

Penalties for Possessing CBD

Possessing CBD in Dubai can lead to severe consequences. Penalties may include:

Fines:

Financial penalties vary depending on the quantity of CBD found. Fines can start at several thousand dirhams and increase significantly based on the circumstances of possession. Larger amounts or repeat offenses can result in much steeper fines.

Imprisonment:

First-time offenders caught with CBD could face up to four years in prison. Repeat offenders or those caught distributing or selling CBD may receive even longer sentences. Those caught with large amounts of cannabis can be imprisoned for ten years or longer.

Deportation:

Foreign nationals caught with CBD may be deported and banned from re-entering the UAE. This can affect future travel plans.

The UAE government conducts thorough checks at all entry points, including airports and border crossings. Customs officials use advanced screening methods, including sniffer dogs, X-ray scanners, and chemical swabs, to detect banned substances.

Medical Use and Exceptions

CBD oil side effects

There are a few exceptions for medical CBD products in the UAE.

For instance, you may qualify for cannabis-based medication if you have a severe medical condition. The most notable example is Epidiolex, an FDA-approved CBD-based drug for specific epilepsy disorders.

If prescribed, you must get the medication through authorized pharmacies in the UAE. Bringing medical cannabis from another country, regardless of a prescription, can still lead to arrest, fines, or deportation.

The Application Process

Under Dubai’s medical cannabis laws, patients must go through a complex approval process. This includes:

Consultation with a licensed physician:

A UAE-approved doctor must evaluate your condition and determine if cannabis-based treatment is necessary.

Documentation:

You need to provide detailed medical records showing why this treatment is required.

Approval from health authorities: The UAE government must review your case and grant permission before you can access the medication.

Getting medical cannabis is complicated. You need to go through extensive paperwork, meet strict requirements, and get approval from health authorities. Many patients struggle with the process, which is why very few people end up using medical cannabis in the UAE.

Travel Advice for CBD Users

If you use CBD regularly, you’ll need to plan ahead when traveling to Dubai. Here are a few tips to keep in mind.

Leave CBD at Home

The safest option is to avoid bringing any CBD products to Dubai. What’s legal in your home country may be completely banned in the UAE. Check to make sure there’s no residue in your bags, clothing, or personal items.

Consult Your Healthcare Provider

If you use CBD for medical reasons, speak to your doctor about alternative treatments. Your healthcare provider can recommend legal options available in Dubai, such as prescription medications, natural remedies, or over-the-counter supplements that may offer similar benefits.

Research Legal Alternatives

Dubai pharmacies carry approved medications and supplements that help with pain, anxiety, and sleep disorders. Look into what’s available so you can manage your health without breaking any laws.

Review UAE Customs Regulations

Before you travel, check the latest UAE customs rules to avoid carrying restricted substances by mistake. Airport screenings are strict, and customs officers may test personal items for traces of banned drugs.

Avoid CBD in Transit

If you have a layover in Dubai, do not bring CBD with you, even if it stays in your carry-on. UAE authorities apply drug laws to all travelers, including those in transit.

Is CBD Hemp Oil Legal in Dubai?

While hemp seed oil products are legal in Dubai, there are currently no laws regarding the legality of hemp-derived products.

However, although THC-free alternatives like CBD hemp oil contain little-to-no THC, the presence of the letters C-B-D might be enough to bring legal proceedings, and the risk of that far outweighs the benefits.

Conclusion

Dubai’s stance on CBD is clear — it’s completely illegal, and carrying it with you, whether knowingly or unknowingly, can have serious consequences. If you are traveling to Dubai, double-check your belongings to make sure you are not carrying any form of CBD. The risk is simply too high.

If you’re in a country where CBD is legal, always choose brands that prioritize safety and transparency. At Healthy Hemp Oil, our products are sourced from legally grown industrial hemp and contain 0.3% THC or less. Each batch undergoes third-party lab testing to confirm purity and guarantee it’s free from pesticides, mold, and harmful additives.

CBD Oil Guide – How to Buy CBD Oil in 6 Easy Steps
How to Buy CBD Oil 6 Easy Steps

Hi, I’m Brandon Nolte.

I’ve been running Healthy Hemp Oil since 2013. Since starting the company, I’ve learned a great deal about how and where to buy the best CBD oil, both online and off.

This CBD oil guide has helped millions of people just like you make the right decision on how to buy CBD oil. I hope you enjoy reading it as much as I did writing it!

With care,
Brandon

Typically, if you want to buy cannabidiol (CBD) oil products, you have to dig deep to find accurate and up-to-date information. That’s because, while CBD is increasing in popularity, reliable information is often scattered across the web.

What’s more, CBD is one of the most misunderstood substances available today. Many people confuse it with THC, the main psychoactive ingredient in cannabis.

Contrary to these common misconceptions, CBD contains no psychoactive elements, so there’s no chance of “getting high.”

Even if you’re totally clear on the difference between CBD and THC, there are still many other factors to consider before purchasing, including brands, concentration, types of products, and above all, your own needs.

“An informed customer is a happy customer.”

I strongly believe that an informed customer is a happy customer. That’s why it’s my goal to empower you to make the best possible decision when it comes to buying CBD supplements. I want you to feel 100-percent comfortable with your choices.

This CBD oil guide aims to cut through the bulk of the misinformation surrounding CBD, and it’ll start by debunking some of the most common myths about CBD, like whether CBD can get you high. (Spoiler alert: no, it cannot.)

I promise that by reading this CBD guide you’ll be arming yourself with the knowledge required to make the right call regarding CBD and your health—even if you’re completely new to CBD.

But before you start reading, I do have one small request…

Please read the whole CBD oil guide, thoroughly, from start to finish. It won’t take long, probably around fifteen minutes, and the sections build on one another—they’re all important in helping you make the right decision.

So, set aside some time, settle into your comfiest chair, and get ready to read, learn, and take action. I’ve done my best to keep everything clear and concise, and to make things easier I’ve broken the CBD buying guide down into six steps. Click the links below to jump to a specific section.

Okay! Let’s get started.

Where Can I Buy CBD Oil?

The demand for CBD oil has seen a drastic rise in recent years thanks to the push for legalization of all forms of cannabis and growing research supporting CBD’s therapeutic effects. Unfortunately, figuring out where to buy CBD oil can be difficult and confusing for beginners and experienced veterans alike, but knowing where to look and what to look for can be a big help in getting a quality CBD oil that works for you.

You generally have four options for purchasing CBD oil.

  • Dispensaries are stores that sell cannabis products and cannabis accessories
  • Medical dispensaries only sell cannabis products to customers who have a medical marijuana card or prescription.
  • Recreational dispensaries only exist in legal states and are licensed to sell cannabis products to the public.
  • Online CBD shops sell CBD products online.

As CBD becomes more popular with the public, a growing number of dispensaries are stocking low-THC high-CBD products to cater for demand.

When shopping for CBD products at a Dispensary or online shop, it’s important to ask about the level of THC contained in the product and how the CBD is sourced. For example, is it from a low THC strain of cannabis? Or, is the CBD derived from industrial hemp?

If you’re seeking to avoid the psychoactive effects of THC, you may prefer to stick to CBD extracted from industrial hemp, as these products, by law, must contain less than 0.3% THC.

Follow the steps below, to walk you through how to buy CBD oil to make sure you purchase the right CBD oil product for your needs.

How to Buy CBD Oil (6 Easy Steps)

There’s no denying that CBD has grown in popularity over the last decade, thanks to a range of potential benefits. Before I explain just what those are, I think it’s important that I cover the basics of CBD and clarify one of its single most misunderstood aspects: which plant does CBD oil come from?

1. BEFORE PURCHASING CBD, LEARN THE CBD BASICS

Hemp CBD Oil vs. Marijuana CBD Oil: What’s the Difference?

Did you know that CBD oil can be made from either marijuana or hemp?

It’s true. The main difference between the two lies in the levels of THC found in the finished product. CBD products made from industrial hemp (like those available in our online store) must contain less than 0.3 percent THC—meaning there’s no chance of getting high when using it.

If CBD oil contains more THC than 0.3 percent, it’s considered a marijuana product, and CBD oil from marijuana has no restrictions on how much THC it can contain. This means the CBD oil from your local dispensary might contain a lot more THC than you would like and could still give you a “high” feeling.

If you’re concerned, make sure to check for a low THC count and compare it to the 0.3 percent THC you get from industrial hemp-based products.

Legality, Accessibility, and Chemical Compounds of CBD

Another key difference between hemp- and marijuana-based CBD oils is where you can buy them. The first (and biggest) hurdle to buying CBD oil is the legal system. Currently, four states (Idaho, South Dakota, Nebraska, and Kansas) have no program that allows for public access to cannabis in any form, including CBD oil, so finding where to buy CBD oil in-person in these states probably won’t happen anytime soon without some sweeping legislation.

Thirty-six states allow for the use of medical cannabis and CBD oil. This makes the process of finding places to buy CBD oil a little easier, but understand that you need a prescription to even go about purchasing any CBD products in these states.

Ten states and Washington, D.C., allow for recreational and medicinal cannabis. If you live in these states, obtaining CBD oil should be much easier as it involves fewer hoops and hurdles.

Because it contains such a low level of THC, CBD oil from hemp is considered a food supplement and is therefore legal to buy and sell in all 50 states (and in most countries worldwide) without the need for a prescription or medical card.

You can buy CBD hemp oil from your local health and wellness shops, medical and recreational dispensaries, and online CBD stores.

Marijuana, on the other hand, although now legal in a growing number of US states, is still federally banned as a Schedule 1 drug—and a controlled substance in many other countries around the world—so CBD oil made from marijuana can only be sold in specific state-sponsored dispensaries.

Remember, it’s still not legal at a federal level to sell marijuana products anywhere in the United States. Customers and business owners alike could be at risk if the federal government decides to enforce its laws.

Finally, you should also know that CBD found in marijuana is the same exact chemical compound as that found in hemp. Many people are discovering the same benefits of using marijuana with zero chance of getting high or encountering legal risks. That’s why, in this CBD oil guide, we‘ll exclusively discuss legal CBD oil made from industrial hemp.

How Does CBD Work?

It’s fair to say that the cannabis plant is incredibly complex—and more than a little misunderstood. It contains over 400 chemical entities, of which more than 100 are compounds called cannabinoids. You’ve probably heard of the two best-known cannabinoids: tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) and cannabidiol (CBD).

Cannabis has a longstanding reputation for producing a euphoric “high,” and that comes down to the way THC interacts with the brain. However, CBD is not psychoactive and does not produce a similar high. So how, exactly, does it work?

Well, first it’s important to know that we all have a system within our bodies responsible for regulating the response of our immune systems, our sleep patterns, our moods, and how we experience pain. It’s called the endocannabinoid system (ECS), and its function is to deal with the cannabinoids naturally produced by our bodies.

It does this via two kinds of cannabinoid receptors found throughout the body: CB1 receptors (located in the brain and nervous system) and CB2 receptors (located in the immune system).

While THC affects your brain’s endocannabinoid receptors (resulting in the high), CBD does not attach directly to the receptors. Instead, it influences your body into using its own natural supply of cannabinoids more effectively. That is to say, it can inhibit or activate compounds in the ECS, which in turn may impact the amount of pain you feel in the brain and nervous system.

Okay, now that you understand those important differences and how CBD works, let’s jump into the next section.

2. KNOW THE BENEFITS BEFORE BUYING

Like all supplements, CBD has certain qualities that may be of benefit to you and your circumstances, and others that may have no effect on you whatsoever.

So, how can CBD help you specifically? Let’s examine some of its top potential benefits and effects to find out.

1. Stress Reduction & Mood Improvement

Studies have shown that CBD can alleviate the physical and mental effects of stress.

The compounds found within cannabis (known as cannabinoids) are very similar to the ones produced naturally by our bodies. These cannabinoids have been observed to potentially help by attaching themselves to particular receptors in the brain, thereby blocking or boosting certain signals. This can help bring calm to an otherwise stressful situation.

CBD can also potentially help lift your spirits and improve your mood, positively impacting your behavior and reducing stress-related issues in situations related to social interactions.

2. Sleep Support

Research has suggested that CBD may be effective at reducing sleep difficulties and possibly improving the quality of sleep.

Stress is often the number-one culprit when it comes to sleep disorders. The good news is, for many people, CBD has been observed to help reduce stress, which in turn can help improve sleep quality. Furthermore, according to studies, CBD could also increase the amount an individual sleeps.

What’s more, small servings of CBD can potentially help you feel more alert and less tired during the day, which can mean a healthier and more appropriate sleep pattern at night.

3. Discomfort & Management

CBD for joint pain and inflammation

A number of studies suggest that CBD might be used to help with general discomfort in the body.

As I mentioned earlier, when consumed, the cannabinoids found in CBD attach themselves to certain receptors in your brain and immune system. One such receptor, the CB2 receptor, helps manage pain in your immune system. When you use CBD oil for pain, it impacts the way your brain and body respond to the signals they’re sent—ultimately helping to reduce pain.

CBD can also potentially help alleviate discomfort associated with joint injuries sustained while exercising, headaches, and muscle soreness. Though it’s important to remember that our products are not intended to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any disease or illness.

4. Skin Care

CBD for skin care

When applied topically, research indicates that CBD oil may help reduce the symptoms associated with a variety of skin conditions.

It can also be used as a long-lasting moisturizer, and may even help reduce the appearance of lines and wrinkles. The elements found in CBD potentially help soften, revitalize, and regenerate tired, dry, or irritated skin.

They also increase the elasticity of the skin and the flow of blood underneath while removing dead skin cells, which could give your skin a more youthful, healthy glow.

Remember: Speak with Your Doctor

Although CBD can be a great option for a variety of needs, we strongly recommend that you speak with a medical professional regarding any serious illnesses, disorders, or conditions you may have.

3. CHOOSE YOUR BUYING CRITERIA

Hemp-based CBD products come in all shapes and sizes. From tinctures, concentrates, oils, and creams to e-liquids for vaporizers and a myriad of edibles, there’s no shortage of choice.

In order to compare and contrast the best CBD products, I’d like to share some of the key buying criteria worth considering. For example:

1. Concentration

Concentration is often the most important characteristic when selecting a CBD product.

After all, you’ll want to know just how much CBD is actually in the product before parting with your hard-earned cash.

To work this out, you should look at the milligrams of CBD, which should be clearly listed on the product label. In fact, it should look something like this:

Don’t be misled by the “total volume” of oil. The milligrams of CBD are what counts. This is similar to buying fish oil supplements.

Fish oil supplements contain a certain amount of total fish oil and a certain amount of DHA and EPA (the important substances in this supplement). So, if you’re shopping for fish oil, you should be looking for total EPA and DHA quantities per pill, not total fish oil.

Likewise, knowing the total milligrams of CBD rather than the total volume of oil will help you compare products of a similar price to find out which is of better value.

Note: Sometimes only a percentage amount is listed, instead of the total milligrams. This percentage is a ratio of total CBD to total liquid volume of the product.

For example, let’s say there is a CBD concentrate with 1000 milligrams of total hemp oil and 100 milligrams of CBD—the concentration would be ten percent CBD.

Fortunately, most manufacturers are phasing this out in favor of just using milligrams of CBD. This makes it easier to know how much you’re getting, so you can stay consistent with your serving sizes.

A Note on Daily Serving Sizes

CBD has maximum efficiency when used consistently, much like a daily multivitamin supplement. This effect is due to the fact that it takes a while for your body to adjust to the chemical compounds found in CBD. Therefore, CBD should be taken consistently for at least seven to ten days to allow its full effects to work properly.

If you’re new to CBD, we recommend using two to three milligrams daily at first. Depending on your metabolism, body weight, cannabinoid tolerance, and desired effects, you may wish to start with five milligrams instead—and you can always increase your serving size once you know how CBD will affect you.

As there are no psychoactive or dangerous components present in CBD, you can safely increase your serving size at any time to find the optimal concentration for you. It’s usually best to begin with a lower concentration and work your way up.

Remember to talk to your doctor if you have trouble finding the right amount of CBD for your circumstances, or if you have a serious ailment or disease.

Interested in trying CBD for your furry friends? We recommend ten milligrams of CBD per ten pounds of your pet’s body weight.

2. Ease of Use

By and large, CBD is very simple to use. It can be taken in many different forms and used as you would a vitamin supplement or topical balm—but some CBD products can be quite tricky.

If you’re new to the world of CBD, a tincture is your best bet—it’s portable, discreet, and easy to use. And with only a few drops or sprays on your tongue, it’s super easy to keep track of your daily serving size.

3. Immediacy and Length of Effects

With concentration and ease of use taken into consideration, next you’ll want to think about how quickly you’d like to feel the effects of CBD and for how long you’d like it to last. This will largely depend on which products you use:

Immediacy and Length of Effects

  • By using a vaporizer, you’ll experience the benefits of CBD almost immediately, and they can last for hours.
  • If you take CBD sublingually (under the tongue) using drops or a spray, you’ll likely feel the effects within 20 to 40 minutes, and they can last between four and six hours.
  • If you apply CBD topically using a balm or cream, it can take up to an hour to feel the effects, but they can last for up to five hours.
  • Finally, if you take CBD orally using a capsule, concentrate, candy, or chocolate, it can take between 20 minutes and two hours to feel the benefits, and they should last between four and six hours after the onset.

Typically, the slower CBD absorbs, the longer it lasts. Likewise, if the CBD absorbs quickly, it will usually offer immediate, short-term relief.

4. Taste

For some people, taste is incredibly important. For others, it’s merely a byproduct. If taste matters to you, there are a few things worth considering:

  • Some products, like pastes or concentrates, have a very distinct hemp flavor thanks to their high concentration of CBD. If you’re unfamiliar with hemp, it can best be described as having an “earthy” or “grassy” quality.
  • Other products, such as tinctures, and edibles, can be purchased in a variety of flavors, including mint, vanilla, chocolate, and a mix of various fruits. Flavored products are a great option if you’re looking for something that will mask the taste of hemp.
  • And if you don’t want to taste hemp at all, stick with CBD capsules, which are completely flavorless.

5. Price

Finally, the price of CBD should loom large in your decision-making process. If you’re just starting out with CBD, there’s no point spending big on certain products until you know what works best for you.

The price of CBD products can vary, and, naturally, some CBD products are more affordable than others. The intended effects, along with the quantity, longevity, and immediacy can all impact the cost of a particular CBD product.

4. CHOOSE YOUR CBD PRODUCT TYPE

CBD product types

CBD can be enjoyed in many different forms.

  • CBD tinctures – Designed to be taken orally, CBD tinctures offer versatility and ease of use for CBD beginners and veterans alike.
  • CBD pastes and concentrates – CBD pastes and concentrates are made mainly from hemp oil, offering a higher concentration of CBD.
  • CBD topicals – Applied directly to the skin, topicals include balms, oils, and lotions that have been infused with CBD.
  • CBD capsules – This pill-form of CBD is easily ingested and offers more concentrated amounts of CBD for longer-lasting effects.
  • CBD edibles – CBD edibles are foods that have been infused with CBD, including gummies, cookies, hard candies, and more.
  • CBD for pets – CBD pet products offer the same potential health benefits as human products but are formulated specifically for the animal companions in your life.

So, you need to consider which CBD product type will work best for you and your circumstances. For example, when does it make sense to choose a tincture, or an edible over a topical?

In this section, I’ll explain each of the different product types in more detail, sharing their benefits and their downsides, before recommending a product from that particular category.

CBD Tinctures

What is it?

CBD tinctures are a liquid form of CBD that can be taken orally. It’s by far the most popular form of CBD, thanks to its ease of use and versatility.

CBD tincture brands

How to Use:

Simply spray or drop onto your tongue and swish for 90 seconds before swallowing. CBD will be absorbed sublingually (under the tongue) at first, and then in your stomach. Effects can be felt in ten to fifteen minutes and can last between two and six hours, depending on the strength.

Benefits

  • Fast-Acting
CBD tinctures can get to work in just ten to fifteen minutes—perfect if you need to feel the effects of CBD quickly.
  • Ease of Use
A few drops or sprays on or under the tongue is all it takes. It really couldn’t be simpler. Contrast tinctures with vape oils and the equipment and know-how that goes along with it, and there’s only one winner when it comes to easiest-to-use CBD product.
  • Different Flavors
If you just can’t stomach the taste of hemp, a tincture could be the CBD product you’ve been looking for. With a range of flavors, including fruits, berries, vanilla, and mint, you’ll enjoy all the potential benefits of CBD oil without that hempy, earthy taste.

Downsides:

  • Not Always as Strong
Tinctures are ideal for CBD novices, as they’re not always as strong as other CBD product types. If you know how much CBD you require and you’re after a higher concentration, a regular CBD tincture is unlikely to deliver the goods. However, this is beginning to change as companies experiment with higher concentrations. In the meantime, paste, or concentrate to enjoy a stronger CBD experience.
  • Droppers Are Harder to Use Than Sprays
A spray tincture will deliver a consistent serving of CBD each and every time, but the dropper version can be a little trickier to master. Keep this in mind when choosing your CBD tincture product.

Where To Buy CBD Tinctures

Tinctures are an extremely versatile product, great for beginners who need to figure out how much CBD to take.

Healthy Hemp Oil offers a wide variety of convenient, easy-to-use CBD tinctures that you can incorporate into your everyday routine. We recommend a spray tincture, like the CBD oil herbal spray from Herbal Renewals.

CBD pastes and concentrates are among the strongest CBD oil products available today. They’re mostly hemp oil, which means they boast a higher concentration of CBD in comparison to the other ingredients. They’re typically packaged in a tube and offer terrific value for your money.

How to Use:

Simply squeeze a grain-of-rice-sized portion onto your tongue and swish for 90 seconds before swallowing. The CBD will be absorbed sublingually at first, and then in your stomach. Effects can be felt in ten to fifteen minutes and last six to twelve hours, depending on the strength.

Benefits

  • Fast-Acting, Long-Lasting
If you’re looking for a strong CBD product that gets to work quickly and lasts for a long time, look no further. CBD concentrates will only take around ten to fifteen minutes to take effect, but can last for up to twelve hours.
  • High Concentration
You simply will not find a stronger CBD product type than a concentrate or paste. These products have been specifically designed to deliver a seriously strong serving size of CBD, quickly and simply.
  • Great Value
CBD concentrates represent amazing value, typically delivering the most CBD per dollar spent. They contain up to ten times more cannabidiol than the average CBD product, and a three-gram tube can last a few months, even with daily use.

Downsides:

  • Strong Hemp Flavor
Concentrates are pure, unflavored CBD products. They’re not available with added flavors, so if you’re not a fan of that earthy flavor, this might not be the product for you.
  • High Serving Size
If you’re new to CBD, it might be wise to pass on CBD concentrates until you’re more comfortable with your desired serving size. Concentrates will deliver a very high amount of CBD with even the smallest serving.

Where to buy CBD Pastes and Concentrates?

Pastes and concentrates are great if you want a strong CBD product that will last for a long time. They’re extremely popular, easy to use, and a terrific value. Healthy Hemp Oil sells a wide range of CBD Pastes and Concentrates that is of the highest quality, strength and purity and ideal for those seeking long lasting effect.

CBD Topicals

What is it?

CBD topicals are CBD-infused lotions, balms, and oils that are absorbed through the skin for the localized relief of joint and muscle discomfort.

CBD topicals

How to Use:

Simply rub the CBD topical over the desired area of your body and make sure it’s fully covered. In one to two hours you should start to feel the effects of the CBD, and it can last between six and twelve hours, depending on the strength.

Benefits:

  • Ease of Use
Topical CBD products are no more difficult to use than any other type of balm, lotion, or oil. It’s what makes them so popular; people are already familiar with how to use them.
  • Long-Lasting
If you’re looking for a CBD product that lasts, few are more effective than CBD topicals. Depending on the strength, one serving can last anywhere from six to twelve hours, helping to ease muscular pain or calm itchy and uncomfortable skin.
  • Targets a Specific Area
While most CBD products will provide an overall sense of calm and relaxation throughout your entire body, topical CBD products allow you to quickly and effectively target a specific problem area.

Downsides:

  • Only Affects Target Area
Topical CBD products are designed to offer localized relief. So if you have multiple aches and pains, you might want to consider a different CBD product as more of a catch-all.
  • Slow to Act
In comparison with other CBD product types, such as tinctures and, topical CBD products can take a little longer to act.

Where to Buy CBD Topicals

Topicals are great if you know where you’d like the CBD to help you. Creams, patches, and lotions all help soothe from the outside and last a long time. Topical forms of CBD have become much more common in health food and supplement stores, both physical and online. Healthy Hemp Oil features a wide variety of CBD-infused balms, creams, and salves, including one of our favorites below.

CBD Capsules

What is it?

CBD capsules are pills containing a powdered form of CBD. These pills typically contain higher concentrations of CBD, like 15 to 25 milligrams (which is more than the normal recommended serving size of two to three milligrams). They are tasteless and odorless, and effects can last for six to twelve hours.

How to Use:

Simply place one CBD capsule in the back of your mouth, sip on water, and swallow. The CBD will be absorbed through your stomach.

Benefits:

  • High Concentration
Most CBD capsules come with a high serving size. This is great if you know exactly how much CBD your body needs. However, if you don’t need 15 to 25 milligrams of CBD, you could be wasting money. If you’re unsure how much CBD you require, I recommend you start with CBD tinctures, where the serving sizes are closer to two to three milligrams.
  • Ease of Use
CBD capsules are probably the easiest type of CBD product to use. They can be taken as you would any other type of pill or capsule. Plus, you’ll always know just how much CBD you are consuming, unlike some other product types (such as concentrates). This allows you to stay consistent as your body gets used to CBD.
  • Long-Lasting
CBD capsules are digested in the gut. This means they take longer to get into your bloodstream, and it can take anywhere from one to two hours to feel the full effects. The benefit of this is that the effects will last much longer—typically between six and twelve hours, depending on the strength.
  • No Taste
The capsules are tasteless and odorless, and as pills they’re extremely easy to carry around wherever you go. No taste is a plus for some who just don’t enjoy the “hempy” flavor of other CBD products (like concentrates and some tinctures).

Downsides:

  • More Expensive
CBD capsules are all about convenience. They’re portable, discreet, easy to take, of a higher concentration, and have no taste whatsoever. Because of this, you’ll usually end up paying a little more per serving than some other CBD product types. If price is a concern, consider trying CBD concentrates. They’re the most pure form of CBD oil and are also the most cost-effective.
  • Harder to Find the Sweet Spot
Each capsule typically contains a fairly large amount of CBD. This makes it harder for new users to find that “sweet spot” of how much CBD their body needs. For example, if you’re using Tasty Hemp Oil CBD Gel Caps, in order to take more, you have to go from 15 milligrams (one capsule) to 30 milligrams (two capsules). Serving size is difficult to control, and that’s why CBD capsules are usually only recommended for more advanced users who know how much CBD to use.

Overall:

CBD capsules are ideal for advanced users who know precisely how much CBD they require. They’re convenient, discreet, and as easy to take as any other type of pill. If you need a lot of CBD per serving, don’t enjoy the taste of hemp, and want long-lasting effects thrown in for good measure, CBD capsules are a terrific choice. You can find them easily online, though make sure you buy from reputable sites like Healthy Hemp Oil. One of our favorites is Plus CBD Oil’s capsules, which you can learn more about in the recommended CBD Capsules below.

CBD Edibles

What is it?

CBD edibles are food items infused with CBD. Edibles are a terrific alternative to smoking or vaping CBD, and they come in many varieties and flavors, including cookies, candies, gummies, chocolates, and more.

How to Use:

Eat CBD edibles as you would any other piece of chocolate, gummy, or candy. The CBD will be absorbed through the stomach. You should begin to feel the effects of CBD in one to two hours, and effects can last from six to twelve hours, depending on the strength.

Benefits:

  • Ease of Use
While other CBD product types can be quite intimidating, there’s no such problem with CBD edibles. If you’ve ever eaten a candy bar or a handful of gummy bears, you know what you’re doing.
  • Fast-Acting, Long-Lasting
One of the best factors of edible CBD products is that they’re absorbed through the stomach, meaning they get to work relatively quickly, and the effects can last for as long as twelve hours, depending on the strength of the product in question.
  • Range of Flavors
If you can’t stand the taste of hemp, it’s CBD edibles to the rescue! They come in all shapes, sizes, and flavors, so there’s bound to be something that’ll tickle your tastebuds.
  • High Concentration
Edibles typically boast a higher concentration of CBD than other product types, meaning a little goes a long way.

Downsides:

  • Easy to Overeat
While other CBD products are easily recognizable as supplements, it’s all too easy to succumb to “just one more piece of chocolate” or “one more handful of gummies” with CBD edibles.
  • Difficult to Accurately Track Serving Size
Unless specifically portioned, it can be difficult to accurately track just how much CBD you’re consuming with each serving.
  • Typically More Expensive
Although CBD edibles will generally be of a higher concentration, they are still typically more expensive than other CBD products.

Overall

Edibles are great if you want something fun and tasty, or if you need a lot of CBD per serving.

CBD for Pets

What is it?

CBD pet products are specially made for pets. Similar to the CBD products available to you, CBD for pets may help promote a sense of calm and well-being in your pets, while also relieving discomfort and potentially improving quality of life.

How to Use:

CBD products for pets come in a variety of types, but the best are usually available as drops and tinctures. Simply administer to your pet’s food using the accompanying dropper. As a rule of thumb, add two drops of CBD supplement per ten pounds of animal weight to their food once a day. Larger dogs may require two servings a day.

Benefits:

  • Passes the Taste (and Smell) Test
Dogs and cats are known for their powerful sense of smell. They typically don’t like having something new added to their food, making supplementing their diets to ease health issues challenging. However, CBD products for pets take that challenge into account. Developed by dedicated veterinarians, they’ve been designed to pass the taste and smell test.
  • Ease of Use
Unlike some other pet supplements, you won’t have to force your furry friend’s jaws open in order to administer CBD. Using the accompanying dropper, you can simply add a few drops to their food as normal.

Downsides:

  • Drowsiness
It has been observed that CBD can cause drowsiness in some cats and dogs.

Remember: If your pet used to be calm, but his or her character has suddenly changed, it might actually be a symptom of a more serious condition. Please consult your veterinarian if your pet shows any sudden changes in character.

Where to Buy CBD For Pets

Easy to administer, CBD is becoming more popular as a potential natural product for pets, though you’re more likely to find CBD for Pets online than at your general pet store. Healthy Hemp Oil offers a wide range of CBD for pets, including supplements from Herbal Renewals.

5. PURCHASE FROM REPUTABLE COMPANIES

CBD can be enjoyed in many different forms.

Unfortunately, this industry is renowned for its varying degrees of quality standards. Often, you’ll get what you pay for, but even then, you could end up paying a premium for the brand alone. Purchasing from a reputable company ensures that you’re getting quality products that are effective and responsibly sourced.

That’s why, when it comes to purchasing CBD products, you need to know what to look out for before you start browsing. Do you know which companies have a reputation for producing low-quality versus high-quality CBD products? Do you know which lab results you should ask to see? Or which manufacturing certifications point to quality practices being adhered to?

Read on below to discover my recommended criteria to help you avoid less reputable CBD companies:

Industrial Hemp Products

Make sure the company is selling products made from industrial hemp (which is legal in all 50 states and in many countries worldwide). If they’re selling marijuana-based CBD products, you should be made aware that these are restricted to the states and countries where they are legal.

Third-Party Lab-Tested

Make sure the products you buy are all tested by a third party to ensure quality. Products should also be tested for mold, heavy metals, and other contaminants.

What’s more, they should be tested to make sure they contain the correct amount of CBD that they are claiming.

GMP Facility

GMP stands for Good Manufacturing Practices, and it covers the practices required to ensure products are produced according to industry standards. The agencies that control the authorization and licensing of the manufacture and sale of these products provide guidelines, and the manufacturer must adhere to these guidelines to make sure their products remain consistent and of high quality from batch to batch.

Unreasonable Health Claims

If a company claims its product can help or cure particular ailments or diseases, you should be wary. CBD has many wonderful benefits, but it’s not intended to treat any specific disease.

Customer Reviews

If a company claims to be the best, you need to look for proof. One of the best ways to spot a reputable company is to look for customer reviews, particularly if the website uses a system in which the reviewers are verified as having purchased the product in question.

6. REVIEW ALL STEPS AND MAKE A DECISION

The goal of this CBD oil guide is to help you answer any questions you might have regarding CBD and empower you to make the right choices should you wish to buy a CBD product.

You should now be aware of the benefits of CBD, the various buying criteria, the available product types, and how to select reputable companies.

The sixth and final step is to put it all together, review your options, and make a decision.

TL;DR: A Recap of Steps 1 – 6

step 1 - learn the basics
step 2 - know the benefits
step 3 - choose your buying criteria
step 4 - choose your product type
step 5 - avoid scammy companies
step 6 - review all steps

Step 1: Learn the CBD Basics

It’s always a good idea to fully understand what a particular supplement is and how it works before you introduce it to your daily diet. The better informed you are, the better the decision you’re likely to make.

Step 2: Know the CBD Oil Benefits

Before you jump in with both feet, it’s important to know that CBD oil has some very particular qualities, some of which may help you, while others may have no effect on you whatsoever.

It’s therefore vital that you take the time to read and discover how CBD could potentially benefit you. If you’re looking for a supplement to potentially relieve the symptoms of stress, possibly help you sleep better, potentially alleviate discomfort, or refresh your skin, CBD could be a good fit for you. But remember, it’s not a magic cure-all. Also, please keep in mind that our products are not intended to treat or diagnose any ailments.

Step 3: Choose Your Buying Criteria

Next, you need to decide which criteria is most important to you. After all, CBD products are available in all shapes and sizes, meaning there’s no shortage of choice.

To compare and contrast the best CBD products out there, you should zero in on some key pieces of buying criteria, such as taste, price, immediacy of effects, ease of use, and concentration. This will help you filter out the products that won’t work for your circumstances and find the one(s) that will.

Step 4: Choose Your Product Type

When you have a handle on the benefits you’re after and the criteria that matters most, you can start browsing for products to find the best CBD for you.

CBD can be enjoyed in many different forms, from edibles to topicals and tinctures. You therefore need to consider which CBD product type will work best for you and your situation.

Step 5: Select Reputable Companies

Once you’ve identified the CBD product that fits your circumstances and meets your own buying criteria, there’s something you need to do before you reach for your credit card: be able to spot reputable operations.

Sadly, this industry is well-known for its varying degrees of quality and standards. Often, you’ll get what you pay for, but even then, you could end up paying a premium for the brand alone.

Make sure you do before clicking “Add to Cart.”

Step 6: Go for it!

With steps one to five in the bag, all that’s left is to make your decision and go for it.

Like any supplement, CBD will work for some and not for others, but if you don’t try you’ll never know. Once you’ve found the CBD product that works for you, you’ll wonder how you ever lived without it!

Thank You!

Frequently Asked Questions

Healthy Hemp Oil is dedicated to educating you so that you can figure out if CBD is right for you. We know that navigating the CBD landscape can be difficult for beginners and veterans alike, and we understand the importance of making an informed decision on the best CBD products for you. Peace of mind is everything, so here are some of the most frequently asked questions about CBD.

Where can I buy CBD Oil? Can I buy it anywhere?

CBD oil is readily available at just about any store that sells cannabis products. However, not all CBD oils are made equal. Some use poor quality ingredients that may not offer the desired effects or provide a safe, satisfactory experience. Healthy Hemp Oil does extensive testing and curating to make sure that you get CBD oil that is effective, safe, and made from high-quality ingredients. Our CBD oils are free of pesticides and harmful toxins, and we only carry products from the best brands in the business. Some CBD oils also contain amounts of THC, the psychoactive compound that produces the characteristic high associated with cannabis. Most of our CBD oils contain little to no THC, ensuring that you only get the potential benefits.

I’ve never bought CBD before. What do you recommend for beginners?

CBD tinctures. They’re discreet, transportable, and incredibly easy to use. Although there’s an emerging trend of stronger tinctures becoming available, they’re still typically among the lightest CBD products where concentration is concerned.

CBD tinctures make it easy to control the amount of CBD that you get. If you’re a CBD novice, you need to start low and slow before you work your way up, which is generally harder with other forms of CBD that are often pre-measured. Tinctures allow you to easily measure out exactly how much CBD you get, allowing for modifications as you go. This also makes CBD tinctures the easiest form of CBD to add to your meals. Just a few drops in your favorite recipe can provide you with the compound’s potential benefits while you eat. Unlike vaping oils, CBD tinctures don’t require any extra tools or equipment. They come in the form of sprays and dropper bottles and are often flavored to make your taste buds sing.

What is the most common factor people consider when buying CBD oil?

Along with CBD volume, concentration is considered by most people to be the most important characteristic in any CBD product. Concentration refers to the abundance of CBD when compared to the total volume of the product.

At Healthy Hemp Oil, we offer products that range from normal strength to super-high CBD concentrations. Naturally, what concentration you choose depends on how much CBD you want to take and what type of product you are getting it from.

Why should I choose CBD oil over marijuana?

One of the reasons the CBD industry has skyrocketed in recent times is that, with CBD products, people can enjoy many of the same potential benefits as marijuana, without the “high” or legal implications.

CBD is entirely legal across all 50 states and in many countries worldwide, and with more and more positive media coverage, it is becoming far less stigmatized than its psychoactive counterpart.

In short, cannabidiol products are an affordable, discreet, tasty, and risk-free way of enjoying the many qualities of the cannabis plant.

How long should I take CBD to feel the full effects?

Just like any other natural supplement, it can take time for your body to adjust to CBD. If you take it consistently for at least seven to ten days, you should feel the full effects.

However, if you find the amount of CBD you are taking is not sufficient, consider increasing the amount gradually. Likewise, consider lowering your intake if you feel you are taking more than you require.

Why Buy THC-Free CBD Tincture with Terpenes?

Most CBD products contain trace amounts of THC. Legally, this can’t exceed 0.3%.

Yet for some, even this tiny amount can be off-putting.

That’s why Made By Hemp took up the challenge of making a completely THC-free CBD product. And they’ve delivered. The RELAX tincture bottles all the potential benefits of CBD oil, while also putting your mind at rest that there’s no THC present. None. Zero.

    2. Open the bottle, draw a serving into the dropper, and release under your tongue.
    3. Hold it in your mouth for 1-2 minutes and then swallow. The longer you keep it there before swallowing, the more it absorbs directly into your bloodstream via the tissues under your tongue.
    4. Wait for around an hour to feel the effects.

About Made By Hemp: Face and Body Moisturizer

Looking to add CBD to your beauty regimen? Look no further than Made By Hemp: Face & Body Moisturizer to our lineup of CBD topicals. It’s formulated with the powerful combination of 15+ plant extracts, a double serving of hydration and relaxation, along with antiseptic and astringent qualities. You will love its fresh, uplifting scent.

Every bottle also contains 250 grams of full-spectrum CBD. Although we tend to think of topical CBD salves for relief from body discomfort, it actually works wonders for the skin. CBD is a natural compound that’s suitable for all skin types with a soothing quality that can reduce the visible signs of aging. Found in cannabis and embraced for its potential benefits, CBD produces zero narcotic effects while helping ease sleeplessness, leaving you feeling more relaxed and comfortable.

Formulated for face and body—and non-greasy with a luscious texture—it is packed with revitalizing nutrients designed to rebalance your skin’s natural moisture profile. Vitamins A and C help reduce signs of aging while the Omega 9 from mango butter nourishes dry skin and soothes irritation. Alpha-hydroxy acids from added hibiscus gently exfoliate away dead cells to restore the natural lustre of your complexion.

How to Use Made By Hemp: Face and Body Moisturizer

    1. Apply the desired amount after bathing by gently massaging it into the skin until evenly blended. It’s formulated for both face and body so use it all over.
    2. Add more or re-apply when necessary.
    3. Keep the product fresh by storing in a cool, dry place without direct sunlight.

If you’re wondering how much topical CBD to apply to the skin, it’s important to have the facts on how CBD is absorbed through the skin’s surface. More studies are underway to determine the balancing effects of CBD when absorbed topically. We do know that through topical application, CBD travels through the bloodstream where it influences cannabinoid receptors CB1 and CB2. So start small and increase amounts when based on your body’s reaction. These effects, combined with nutrients in the formula, can restore a sense of well-being and inner glow that radiates out.

With the holiday season upon us, the cold air is filled with the promise of gifts, strained family dinners, and plenty of travel. As great as travel is, it can come with an undue amount of stress, feelings of anxiety, and discomfort, which is why you might wonder if you can travel with CBD. However, traveling with CBD can come with its own complications and headaches, so here are some tips for traveling with CBD products.

    Can You Drive with CBD?

If you are driving, going by bus or train, or otherwise traveling by land, you should be fine traveling with CBD as long as you stay within state lines and follow the laws within your state. When you cross the border, things can get tricky. For one, states have different laws for cannabis and CBD products. While it might be completely legal in your home state, CBD oil is only legal in, say, Wyoming if the oil contains less than 0.3 percent THC or if you own a registration card.

For two, possession of CBD or any cannabis-infused products is still illegal by federal law, so even if you are traveling to Oregon, where all forms of cannabis are legal, you could still get into trouble. It’s less about existing in a state that has cannabis laws and more about the act of transporting CBD over state lines

    Can You Fly with CBD?

Luggage on conveyor belt in the airport waiting

The TSA states, “Possession of marijuana and cannabis-infused products, such as Cannabidiol (CBD) oil, is illegal under federal law. TSA officers are required to report any suspected violations of law, including possession of marijuana and cannabis-infused products.” Furthermore, although the TSA does not actively search for cannabis or other drugs, a TSA agent is obligated by law to inform local law enforcement if they do find CBD oil or other cannabis products on your person during screening.

From there, it really depends on the airport. If you aren’t actually breaking any state laws, the police will let you go (though you may be asked to dispose of your CBD before you go through security). If cannabis isn’t legal in the state, you could be prosecuted.

If you’re flying internationally, things get even more serious. Many countries, including Japan and the United Arab Emirates, have zero-tolerance policies for cannabis possession. That means that even the smallest amount of CBD could result in jail time in that country.

What Can You Do to Travel with CBD?

If you need CBD for your plane ride, we recommend taking your CBD before you get through security. Assuming your plane doesn’t experience any long delays, this means that your CBD will hit as soon as your plane is in the air, providing the sense of calm and peace you need to get through a flight.

If you need CBD while you are away from home, do your research beforehand. Look into the state and local laws. Know what documentation you may need from your doctor. If you’re traveling to a state that allows use of medical marijuana, look up the dispensaries where you may be able to get your CBD while you’re enjoying your vacation. If you already have high-quality CBD products, mail them to your destination beforehand. Traveling with CBD or any cannabis product is risky, and it’s almost always better to buy your CBD at your destination.

General Tips for Traveling with CBD

    Packing Suitcase In Hotel Room.

If you are traveling within state lines or otherwise know that you are likely okay traveling with your CBD products, keep these tips in mind to ensure smooth travels.

Choose the right product – Go for a travel-friendly spray or tonic over something larger and bulkier. Remember that any liquid, even CBD oils, must be in containers smaller than 3.4 ounces if you’re flying. Vapes and e-cigarettes may be allowed, though please check current laws, but they cannot be checked and must be in your carry-on bag.

Keep your CBD in your carry-on – In general, if you want to travel with CBD on a plane, keep your CBD products in your carry-on bag. This reduces the likelihood of any problems, and if TSA agents do inspect your CBD products, you can be there to answer any questions and provide proper documentation. Speaking of…

Always bring any required documentation – If you need your CBD oil for any specific medical purpose, make sure you bring the proper documentation, whether it’s the prescription or a note from your doctor.

Handle CBD with care – With CBD in your carry-on, take some care when handling your bag. Don’t toss your bag around or drop it on the floor. Always keep in mind that you have your CBD in the bag. If you’re worried about your CBD product getting squished or broken by other luggage in the overhead, keep the product in your smaller bag or in your pocket. Otherwise, make sure that your CBD is packed securely with some clothes to pad any impact. Above all, tightly secure the lid to any oils, tinctures, or other liquids. You do not want to unpack your bag to find your CBD spilled all over your other toiletries.

Keep your CBD cool, dry, and dark – If you’re traveling on the road, make sure you store your CBD in a cool, dark, dry place to ensure the highest quality when you reach your destination. Leaving your CBD oil or edibles in a hot car can harm the ingredients.

Assuming that you take the right precautions with your CBD, you generally shouldn’t have any problems. Safe travels!

    ]]>
If you have ever considered supplementing your daily diet with cannabidiol, or CBD, you may have heard of CBD tinctures as an alternative way to ingest the healthy benefits of hemp products. Many people have long been praising CBD tinctures for the potential relief of stress and inflammation, as well as helping improve their moods.

For those who do not particularly enjoy the inhalation of smoke, or for those who prefer products that do not have any psychoactive effects, CBD tinctures are the best solution available. But what are CBD tinctures? How are they made and what are they made from? How do you use them? Let’s look more into these questions to ascertain whether or not tinctures are a good fit for your lifestyle and preferences for CBD products.

    What is a CBD tincture?

Traditional tinctures are merely solutions of various plant or animal extracts infused with ethanol (consumable alcohol). Although there are many methods of using cannabis-based products, one of the most highly recommended for individuals trying out cannabis for the first time is through a CBD tincture.

    How are they made?

Tinctures infused with cannabidiol are made through the combination of alcohol and hemp plant extracts. Inherently, CBD tinctures are infused alcohol “cooked” for cannabis users to gain the benefits of hemp without having to smoke it. The flower bud or hemp leaf is steeped as the source of the CBD extract, and it is added to a high-proof neutral spirit to be boiled off on low heat for an extended period. (1)

Once the CBD compounds are infused and the alcohol content has been boiled off, the potent liquid can be extracted to be used right away. Some CBD tinctures have other oils and dietary supplements added to enhance the taste or health factors. The liquid is then stored in a glass bottle for secure storage and consumption.

The concentrations of tinctures are relatively high, as the liquid is usually entirely pure regarding the extraction process. There is no separating of the CBD oil, and tinctures can contain up to 300 milligrams of cannabidiol per bottle.

Industrially brewed CBD tinctures and those made at home have similar properties; both utilize grain alcohols to ferment specific parts of a hemp plant to produce a concentrated liquid. The hemp plants used are mostly bred for their high-CBD and low-THC content. That way, a user’s mental state can remain intact while the rewards of CBD compounds can be released to treat ailments within the body.

Tinctures infused with CBD are highly effective because they are permeated by high alcohol concentrations. The alcohol actually fortifies the cannabidiol’s properties, as well as allowing the CBD compounds to be better absorbed into the body due to their purity. (2)

As there are many CBD-infused tinctures on the market, it is essential to pay attention to the concentration of cannabidiol in the brand you are choosing. If you are looking for hemp oil tinctures with zero psychoactive elements, it’s good to know which strain of cannabis was used to produce the tincture.

    The story behind it

If you think CBD tinctures are a new fad of the cannabis industry, you may be surprised at the fact that they have been around for more than a hundred years. Tinctures were once the most sought-after method of consuming cannabis-infused products, as they offered considerable benefits to those prescribed them as a part of their medical treatment. At the time, CBD tinctures were usually prescribed for illness and ailments such as headaches, menstrual cramps, opiate withdrawal, and many more maladies. (3)

Until 1942, CBD tinctures were legal and popularly used as a medical sedative or relief for pain in the US. (4) Cannabis users everywhere relied on the prominent painkiller right up until cannabis products were banned in that year for fear of their effects on American society.

    How do you consume it?

Built-in Droppers Give You the Most Control

The quickest and easiest form of consumption for CBD tinctures is to utilize a built-in dropper. (Most tinctures come equipped with these in the bottle.) All you have to do is add a couple drops of the liquid under your tongue to reel in the concentrate and its chemical advantages. This is also called the sublingual ingestion method, wherein the mucous membranes within the mouth are said to absorb the CBD much more quickly, as it does not have to go through the digestive system. (5)

The great factor of CBD tinctures is that the dropper allows you to control the exact amount of the concentrate you ingest. Small servings are recommended when you’re first starting out, since everyone has different absorption and tolerance levels, regardless of weight or age.

Adding Tinctures to Your Daily Meals and Snacks

If you prefer not to take a CBD tincture by dropping it under your tongue, you can quickly add it to food and drinks. Some people like to add it to their morning coffee, while others prefer it with their lunches or dinners. (6) There are a variety of ways to include your CBD tincture into your cooking and a wealth of online resources and recipes to give you some great ideas.

    Which Method Is Better?

If you are looking for the quickest method of absorbing the CBD compounds, your best bet is through the dropper under your tongue. By dropping the CBD tincture into your food, the effects are the same as if you consumed a CBD edible—it may take a couple of hours before you notice the benefits of the cannabidiol—whereas, when the tincture is taken sublingually, the CBD effects can be felt as quickly as fifteen minutes. Many seasoned users recommend letting the liquid sit under your tongue for 30 to 90 seconds to allow for maximum absorption through the oral cavity.

How are CBD tinctures different from other cannabis-based products?

Cannabidiol tinctures release the healthful benefits of CBD compounds much more quickly than edibles and still allow you to avoid smoking. (7) In fact, many have suggested that the effects from CBD tinctures can actually be felt as quickly as fifteen minutes after usage and last about three to four hours. Another massive benefit of CBD tinctures is the storage factor. As the liquid concentrate is usually infused with alcohol, the alcohol content actually acts as a preservative agent, allowing the CBD tincture a long shelf life. Here are a few more comparisons between CBD tinctures and other cannabis-based items:

    Tinctures vs. Edibles

When comparing CBD tinctures to CBD edibles, the most prominent difference is in the absorption time. While CBD oils taken under the tongue can be effective within fifteen minutes, edibles can sometimes take more than an hour for the results to kick in. Depending on your needs, CBD edibles can be a much more fun way to ingest CBD supplements. However, if you’re looking for quick pain relief or other benefits, CBD tinctures are the best option. As a bonus, fewer calories are consumed.

    Tinctures vs. Smoking Cannabis

CBD tinctures are ideal for non-smokers who do not wish to inhale their CBD supplement. Many people dread the ill effects and bad aftertaste of smoking. Therefore, the ingestion of cannabidiol through a tincture can come in handy, as most CBD tinctures are available in different flavors. CBD tinctures are also much more discreet than smoking cannabis.

    Where can you get them?

CBD tinctures are readily available in many stores and online, but it’s important to be sure your tincture is manufactured with the best CBD strains and safest quality standards.

You can also create your own; most of the needed tools and ingredients are readily available in stores or even in your own pantry. The end product, however, takes a bit of effort and a lot of time.

If time is of the essence and you would rather purchase a CBD tincture than make your own, the experts at Healthy Hemp Oil would be glad to help you find the right one for you. Let us know your questions (or even your pointers for making your own tincture) in the comments below.

Used for thousands of years for a number of different things, hemp has proved to be one of the most versatile plants found in nature. Many people use hemp in beauty products, and the overall number of hemp oil products you can shop for online illustrates just how popular using hemp oil has become.

Before hemp was added to hair products, creams, lotions, and topicals, it was used some 10,000 years ago for textile and agricultural purposes. Hemp clothing has been around long enough to be found on the remains of mummified humans from around 8000 BC, and hemp was the most popular form of paper until the mid-1800s. Hemp skin care came later when the hemp seed oil benefits for skin were discovered.

The rest, you could say, is history. Today’s natural product market is full of thousands of beauty products, and both men and women use hemp skin care products instead of chemical-derived alternatives. Hemp oil is one of the best sources of omega-3 and omega-6 essential fatty acids, both of which are crucial for maintaining healthy skin cells (1).

Hemp oil benefits for hair are only one of the potential benefits, as it may also help with sleep support, joint support and improving stress and mood. No wonder hemp oil products are used by countless people around the globe.

The Ins & Outs of Hemp Skin Care

Hemp is sometimes referred to as “food” for soothed skin, and it can be used both internally and externally. Hemp oil (the main ingredient used in hemp skin care) contains virtually zero THC, which means using hemp-based skin care products won’t cause any psychoactive effects.

Hemp skin care products are an excellent addition to your current natural skin care routine. Even if you’re not currently taking care of your skin naturally, using hemp for skin care is a great place to start. Hemp is an excellent moisturizer and contains many nutrients that may help your skin stay soft and supple.

Skin-Saving Vitamins Are Found in Hemp Oil

Hemp skin care has become very popular with use of hemp oil as a moisturizer, mainly due to its high vitamin and nutrient content. In fact, these vitamins and nutrients are so potent that hemp seeds have been historically used to sustain people during times of severe famine.

Full of vitamins E (a natural antioxidant that promotes skin tissue growth) and C (the famous antioxidant responsible for even skin tone and elasticity), hemp is one of the best choices in natural skin care. Hemp oil also contains essential omega-3 and omega-6 fatty acids, which have shown to promote younger-looking skin (2).

Three Ways to Use Hemp for Skin Care

With the vast variety of hemp skin care products, using hemp for skin care is effortless. Whether you’re looking for extra moisture protection during the cold, dry winter months and could use a nice hemp balm, or, if you just want a hemp skin cream that provides a lighter-based moisturizer, using hemp for skin care is an excellent choice.

    1. Soothe Dry Skin with Hemp Lotion

Lotion with hemp seed oil as one of the main ingredients provides excellent moisture for dry skin. Hemp oil contains all the benefits contained in essential fatty acids as well as key amino acids that are excellent for skin care and natural skin health (3).

Hemp oil is beneficial for dry skin because it contains the same lipids (naturally occurring molecules) as our skin. This means that hemp oil gives skin exactly what it needs to naturally replace lost moisture. It’s even added to products like a hemp salve, because of the benefits it contains to repair dry skin.

Looking to go a little “greener” in your skin care routine? Hemp oil lotion is also an excellent alternative petroleum-based lotion. When using hemp lotion, you can rest assured knowing that while naturally moisturizing your skin, you’re also doing your part to help the environment.

    2. Use Hemp Oil as a Facial Cleanser

Cleansing the face with hemp oil is another excellent option. Most of us aren’t accustomed to using oil on our face as a cleanser, but there are many people who choose to cleanse their skin with hemp oil instead of soap.

While we all know some oils are responsible for clogged pores, hemp oil actually has the opposite effect and helps balance the skin’s natural oils. It also contains gamma-linoleic acid, which regulates hormones and can reduce acne breakouts.

    3. Consuming Hemp Supplements for Skin

Aside from topically applying hemp, ingesting hemp oil in the form of CBD edibles may also be a beneficial part of natural skin care. Taking CBD supplements allows the nutrients to work from the inside out.

Is Hemp Skin Care Right for You?

Deciding to add hemp-based products to your skin care routine is an excellent choice, especially if you’re looking to take care of yourself in the most natural ways possible. There’s no need to worry about any psychoactive effects when using these products as hemp contains virtually no THC and does not alter your perception at all.

Actually, the compound responsible for many of the potential benefits of hemp is the naturally occurring cannabidiol (CBD), which is the main ingredient of many other food supplements such as CBD capsules, tinctures or vape oils.

If you’re looking to supplement your skin care routine with some new products or are just interested in seeing why hemp skin care has become so popular, there’s no better time than now. The market is full of excellent hemp skin care products, and from lotions and hand creams to cleansing oils, hemp is a top choice among many people looking for natural skin care alternatives.

Do you have experience using hemp skin care products? We’d love to hear about your experience. Please leave us a comment below, and let us know how you’ve personally benefited from hemp skin care.
